Membership and Support
In line with the quality assurance classifications described, CDMT provides membership services and support relevant to the type of performing arts training, education and assessment offered. In summary:
Institutional members benefit from CDMT’s commitment to developing and delivering both general and specialist support services, including privileged access to initiatives which are designed to meet providers’ business, publicity and research needs.
These activities are commonly coordinated through our Awarding Organisations Committee and Conference of Professional Schools, with a particular focus on influencing the key funding, policy and regulatory initiatives driven by education agencies. To this end, we interact closely with bodies such as DfE, DDCMS, the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), the Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB), OfS, Ofsted, the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual), and the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), developing briefing papers and expert sector reports for government ministers and civil service alike.
- Accredited Professional Schools, Colleges and Conservatoires offering professional three or four year training courses further benefit from participation in the CDMT Careers Conference and Showcase Performance and inclusion in CDMT’s exclusive Clearing Service. A full list of Accredited Schools’ membership benefits and services can be found here.
- Validated Awarding Organisations that offer graded, vocational and diploma examinations further have access to CDMT’s annual comparability study of assessment standards, and CDMT led workshops on specific regulatory initiatives such as marking schemes, reasonable adjustments and curriculum mapping. A comprehensive overview of Validated Awarding Organisations’ membership benefits and services can be found here.
Affiliates are supported through their relationship with CDMT, and are entitled to a number of benefits which can be found here.
Recognised Award Holders who participate in the self-certification scheme have access to a support package, for which details can be found here.
