Theatre Technician Vacancy

Working under the direction of the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the provision, maintenance and operation of equipment in our performance spaces and for assisting students and staff in the delivery of a busy programme of events, productions and learning activity.

You are likely to have broad experience of all technical aspects of a producing theatre as well as a relevant qualification and at least two years’ professional experience working as a performing arts technician.

You will need a good knowledge and practical experience of the use of a wide range of theatre technical equipment and systems including intelligent lighting control and programming, live sound, video and counterweight flying. A good working knowledge of stage management might be advantageous.

You will be required to work closely with students, demonstrating technical equipment and supervising their practical work. The ideal applicant will be well-motivated and enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to a career in performance technology. You will often be required to work unsociable and flexible hours.

Salary: £19,802 – £27,318 p.a
