Summer School Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the form of the role of Summer School Officer, based in our offices in Battersea, London.
Salary range: £20,000 – £25,000 pa
Contract type: Permanent / Full time
The Royal Academy of Dance is a dynamic organisation dedicated to advancing standards of dance education and teaching, and to promoting and investing in the development of dance worldwide.
As Summer School Officer reporting to the Head of Training and Artistic Director this is a hands-on position where you will plan, develop and organise a balanced and exciting summer school programme for children, young people and adults. You will be expected to:
- contribute ideas for high quality and innovative summer schools with the aim of developing this part of the Academy’s business.
- ensure value, safety and overall student enjoyment.
- co-ordinate summer school timetables.
- work with a team of chaperones and housemothers for residential schools.
- liaise with external service providers (accommodation, catering and transport).
- work with the Marketing, Communications and Membership team to market and promote the summer schools to increase participation.
- liaise with international colleagues for the planning, set up and organisation for summer schools worldwide.
Skills
Educated to at least GCSE level with experience of working in an administrative capacity in an office environment, you will have well developed Microsoft office skills. With a real commitment to top quality customer service skills, you will have first class all round communication skills in English (and possibly a second language) and be a strong team worker. You will also have:
- knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety (risk assessment).
- good numeracy and budgetary skills.
- ability to use initiative to solve problems, whilst knowing when to refer to colleagues.
- excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- experience of organising travel.
If you have knowledge of dance or have experience of working with children and young people in a responsible capacity, this would be an advantage.
