Retail Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the form of the role of a Retail Manager, based in the RAD’s offices in Battersea.
Salary range: £22,000 – £26,000 pa
Contract type: Permanent / Full Time
The Royal Academy of Dance is a dynamic organisation dedicated to advancing standards of dance education, teaching, promoting and investing in the development of dance world-wide. RAD Enterprises Ltd is company with a retail outlet at the RAD’s premises in Battersea, London with an expanding global online and mail order business selling dance related items, including a wide range of publications of various types.
In this full time permanent role, reporting to the Head of Trading, you will be responsible for:
- managing the main retail outlet, mail order and internet operations of Royal Academy of Dance Enterprises Ltd (RADE)
- developing and driving a dynamic team within a growing online and digital organisation
- managing the day to day operation of the website with the developer
- assisting with raising the profile of RADE both within the RAD business and externally
Skills
You will have previous experience of managing people as well as management of stock take processes and carrying out administrative duties, ideally in retail related organisation. You will be educated to GCSE or equivalent including English and Maths, have excellent oral and written communication in English and proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), email and Internet.
Experience of online retailing including mail order operations, knowledge of digital products and website content management systems would be an advantage but not essential. Additionally, dance training, working with children and an interest in the arts would be desirable.
Flexibility with regard to working hours is required as the role includes the need to work occasional evenings and week-ends as per the needs of the business.
