The Level 4 Diploma has been available since September 2017. It is designed for dance teachers with specialised knowledge  such as an Associate Qualification/Dance degree in any of the listed genres on the Specification.

The Diploma will develop individual professional teaching skills, methods and understanding at a universally recognised level. There is recognition and individual assessment regarding prior learning. It has comparability alongside qualifications in many professions in the public sphere.

The qualification is regulated by Ofqual and CCEA.

Assessment is via an online portfolio submission, designed to be taken at a pace chosen by the candidate, using guidance and templates available either by download from the dedicated webpage or from Head Office.

There are 4 units:

  • Observing Dance Teaching and Teaching Strategies
  • Health, Safety and Safeguarding
  • Dance Teaching Practice
  • Personal Professional Development and Management
