New Adventures are currently recruiting for a new cohort of Overture community dance artists to participate in a series of four residential weekends in 2018/19. This is an exceptional professional development opportunity for dance practitioners working in communities across England.
They are looking to recruit 15 dance artists, who use a variety of dance styles, are under 35 years old and have been working in community settings for less than five years. They hope to find a group of artists whose work spans both urban and rural settings and who represent the diversity of contemporary England.
Full details and how to apply can be found here: https://new-adventures.net/take-part/projects/overture
All applications to be received by: Monday 5 March, 12 midday
"I have found Overture an invaluable experience in supporting me to develop my own artistic ideas and arts plans for the future. I am based in Cornwall and at times I can feel very secluded and lonely in my quest to become a community dance artist. This opportunity has given me not only the confidence and training I need to get my projects running, but also contacts and good friends who I can now turn to for further support and encouragement. Thank you. I have learnt so much in this past year!" – Leigh Christine Burrows, 2017-18 cohort
