In response to ongoing changes in the regulation of teacher-training by government, CDET’s Board has agreed to merge the Recognised Qualified Teacher (QTS and QTLS) and Approved Teacher categories of the Recognised Awards Scheme into a single category titled Recognised Teacher which will better represent all those teaching performance across the broader sector.
This means that from October 2014, those currently holding a Recognised Qualified Teacher (QTS or QTLS) award will be transferred to the updated Recognised Teacher category, requiring use of an updated logo and wording.
Approved Teachers will receive the relevant logo for the updated category Recognised Teacher on renewal at which point they should aim to use the new logo and wording too. (Please contact CDET if you require access to the logo earlier to assist with production of any publicity materials).
CDET’s Recognised Awards Scheme will include the following classifications going forward:
• Recognised Schools
• Recognised Teachers—an amalgamation of previous Recognised Qualified Teacher (QTS and QTLS) and Approved Teacher categories
• Registered Instructors
Our search facility/database will be updated accordingly in October.
