Finance Officer
Part time – Usually 7 hours per week
We are looking for a part–time Accountant/Bookkeeper from a charity background to work in a sole role, taking full responsibility for all of the charity’s finances.
This is a one day per-week position, reporting directly to the Director of the organisation. The offices are based in Covent Garden on the second floor with no lift.
For this role you must have experience of and be able to:
- Maintain the General Ledger – raising invoices, issuing credit notes, allocating cash. Processing invoices, making payment runs, bank reconciliations, and credit control
- Run the monthly payroll
- Produce the Trial Balance (including accruals and prepayments)
- Carry out monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Administer online banking, credit cards and Paypal account.
You will also be responsible for the production of the Monthly Management Accounts including:
- Producing the monthly management reports which comprises income/expenditure and balance sheet
- Producing the annual budget with the Director
- Preparing the quarterly reforecast
- Cash flow
- Quarterly reports to Trustees
- Producing the statutory accounts in keeping with charity SORP accounting.
Together with responsibility for reporting to HMRC, Charity Commission, Companies House, Trustees, Auditors and Banking organisations. You may also be requested to produce adhoc reports and carry out any other duties that are necessary to perform the role.
This is a sole position so you will be the only person responsible for finance.
Essential
- Accounting qualification – minimum of part qualified or equivalent, with experience
- Sage 50 Software experience
- Charity experience
- You must also be able to work part time
This is an ideal opportunity to work for a charity in the education and arts sector. The hourly rate is £20.80.
