Salary in the region of £65,000 pa

The Royal Academy of Dance is a dynamic organisation dedicated to advancing standards of dance education and teaching, and to promoting and investing in the development of dance world-wide. The Academy’s Faculty of Education offers internationally recognised qualifications including university validated degrees, RAD professional awards and a wide ranging Continuing Professional Development programme.
The Faculty of Education offers a portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate taught and distance learning programmes, which centre on dance teacher education and training. Currently over one thousand students are enrolled from 33 countries worldwide.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Director of Education is a key member of the Academy’s senior management team and has responsibility for overseeing and devising strategic plans and policies on dance teacher education and training, enhancing the Academy’s profile and promoting collaboration with educational institutes and professional bodies locally and internationally.
Skills
The individual appointed will have a doctorate (or near completion), extensive management, teaching and leadership experience in higher education and/ or dance teacher education. They will also have experience as a practitioner of dance with high quality communication and management skills and the ability to devise and deliver strategic plans to further the development of dance teacher education for the Academy internationally.
A proven track record of scholarship and professional achievement and willingness to develop national and international links with other dance institutions and communities is essential.
