Dance School Class Assistants & Information Assistants
The RAD is looking for a number of Class Assistants and Information Assistants to support the running of RAD Dance School classes from September 2015.
Hours: Shifts available Monday – Friday afternoon / evenings and / or Saturday (term time only)
Salary: £7.70 per hour
The Royal Academy of Dance is a dynamic organisation dedicated to advancing standards of dance education, teaching, promoting and investing in the development of dance worldwide.
The RAD Dance School, based at our headquarters premises in Battersea, London offers a variety of extra-curricular dance classes for young people and adults with classes taking place during the afternoon and evenings, 5 days per week and all day on Saturdays during term time.
Dance School Class Assistants
You will be responsible for ensuring the safety of children and young people attending the school, including chaperoning them to and from studios and assisting the teacher during the dance class itself.
Previous experience of working with children and knowledge of basic ballet technique and/or other dance styles and dance class structure are essential. You will need excellent communication skills in English and have good interpersonal skills along with the ability to work within a team and be able to take decisions within set guidelines.
Dance School Information Assistants
You will be the first point of contact for students, parents, guardians and general public dealing with queries in person and/or over the telephone or email. You will also support the Dance School Administrator, teachers and pianists with any queries they might have.
Previous experience of working with children and carrying out simple administrative tasks are essential, along with excellent high standard of customer service. You will need to have confidence to deal with enquires, excellent communication skills in English and have sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes (Word and Excel), email and Internet.
