Remembering Dame Beryl Grey
Dame Beryl Grey DBE
1927 – 2022
We are saddened to learn of the death of Dame Beryl Grey DBE, a long-time friend and patron of CDMT, formerly CDET.
Dame Beryl spent her early years dedicating herself to her craft, developing into a talented and celebrated British ballerina. Her devotion to dance didn’t cease when she retired from her career as a professional ballerina; instead, she dedicated herself to championing dance education. This led her to serve as a trustee on multiple boards as well as becoming President for various organisations, including the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and the Dance Council of Wales.
Dame Beryl’s contribution to the dance education industry will act as source of inspiration for future generations of dancers for years to come.
