CDMT Careers Conference and Showcase Performance 2023
CDMT is hosting a Careers Conference and Showcase Performance on Sunday 19 November 2023.
The CDMT Careers Conference and Showcase Performance is the UK’s premier event for young people who wish to pursue a career in professional dance, drama and musical theatre.
Taking place on Sunday 19 November 2023 at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), the event is a unique opportunity to find out more about professional training in the performing arts, to meet and chat to representatives from CDMT Accredited Schools and to take part in bespoke workshops in dance, drama and musical theatre. This is where you will get answers to all your questions about funding, training, the industry and how to kick-start the career you have been dreaming about!
The day will be made up of:
• Workshop-style classes for students led by the top teachers in the UK, focusing on key skills for dance, drama and musical theatre, such as Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Preparing Monologues, Acting through Song, Choreography and Devising, as well as set works such as Blood Brothers, The Crucible, Rooster and Shakespeare! Practical workshops and set work sessions will be rooted in the essential skills needed to succeed in auditions as well as your GCSE, A Level and Graded Examination assessments. Workshop leaders will work with you to understand technique, movement memory, how to decode repertoire, building characters and vocal technique, as well as share their expertise and knowledge on performing arts practitioners such as Brecht, Christopher Bruce, Matthew Bourne, Stanislavsky and Akram Khan.
• Seminars with experts on how to choose the right course for you, successful auditions as well as vital in-depth sessions on topics such as Funding, Wellbeing and Life After Training
• The opportunity to meet and chat with representatives from CDMT Accredited Schools at the exclusive Market Place
• A one-time only Showcase Performance by students currently studying at CDMT Accredited Schools!
You’re not required to prepare anything in advance, just bring your passion for the performing arts.
There are different types of tickets available according to whether you are a student or parent/guardian, and whether you would like to attend the whole day or half day. All tickets will grant you access to the Market Place of Accredited Schools, as well as entry to the exclusive one-time only Showcase by CDMT Accredited Schools’ students!
This event is perfect for school bookings, with the timetable built around essential key skills for GCSE and A Levels, as well as selected set works and practitioners. Teachers looking to bring groups of more than 5 students should contact CDMT using [email protected] for a group booking discount:
