APPG Bulletins
The Fourth meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Performing Arts Education and Training took place by Zoom on 14th September, at which the Group approved its first public bulletin for wider circulation and discussed the findings of CDMT’s recent statistical survey of vocational training at Accredited schools. Parliamentarians were impressed by the focus of activities since January and recommended that the APPG holds a reception at the Houses of Parliament in the first part of 2022 to highlight progress made, inviting a prominent figure from industry to make a key note speech.
The APPG and CDMT will continue to facilitate submissions from vocational training schools, conservatoires and awarding organisations on current issues of vital importance to the sector. More broadly, young people, and their parents/guardians, require assurances that the creative industries will continue to offer valuable career options when rebuilding the UK economy after Covid-19.
